JUNIOR RESIDENTIAL DESIGNER
We’re seeking a Houston-based, full-time, driven junior designer to assist in all phases of projects. The ideal candidate is organized, and a self-motivated individual who is able to assist the Principal and Senior Designer with technical and design focused tasks from initial planning through to final installation.
Work closely with the Senior Designer and Principal in guiding the concept and design development, overseeing construction, managing procurement, and coordinating installation.
Help create detailed design and construction drawings, including sourcing materials, designing floor plans, and developing elevations.
Keep updated AutoCAD drawings for interiors, covering furniture and lighting layouts, elevation views, tile and stone arrangements, and millwork specifications.
Skilled in using 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD, Sketchup + Vray, Rhino, or equivalent, to produce 3D models and visual renderings.
Prepare both digital & physical presentations for clients, incorporating design schemes, detailed specifications, reference images, furniture layouts, & elevation plans
Gather and updating extensive FF&E specifications.
Sourcing antiques, new furnishings & other resources.
Maintain and organize materials libraries and client projects with specifications organized by room & type.
Work in tandem with external subs and project partners, such as architects, general contractors, craftsmen, &others.
Field surveying of client spaces.
Attending project meetings and providing documentation support.
Potential for travel to site locations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should have a passion for design and have the skills and entrepreneurial drive to grow within our firm. The candidate must be a strategic thinker who pays meticulous attention to detail and is able to prioritize, be highly organized, resourceful, and a self-starters who is flexible enough to work on and oversee a variety of projects.
Interior Design or Interior Architecture Degree or minimum 3rd year undergraduate student.
Strong Proficiency in AutoCAD required; manual drafting skills a plus.
Experienced in 3D software programs (AutoCAD, Sketchup + Vray and/or Rhino).
Applicants must submit a portfolio of previous design and rendering work.
Either experience working for, or a keen interest in working for, a high-end interior design firm.
We need a team player who can work well in a small team managing various sized projects.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are crucial. This includes being able to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and management, both in person and via phone or email.
Valid driver’s license and insurance with a reliable vehicle.
Residing in the Houston or surrounding areas.
